Want to learn how to sync music from iTunes to Android? We have 4 different methods to introduce to you! All of which will be different but effective in their own ways. This will include a convenient mobile version and a couple of desktop solutions that you can use if you want something a bit more stable and straightforward.
Part 1. Sync Music from iTunes to Android with Sync iTunes to Android App
The first method that we’re going to be introducing is a bit unconventional, but it does work! By unconventional, we mean that we’re going to be syncing music from iTunes to Android with a mobile app. Specifically, the Sync iTunes to Android App — aptly named, as most apps are. Of course, that doesn’t mean that all the work will be solely on your device. You’ll have to download two programs separately to establish a connection between your Android and your PC with iTunes installed on it! Continue reading to see what we mean by that...
Steps to Sync iTunes to Android with Sync iTunes to Android App
Step 1 — Install
![Itunes To Android Sync App Mac Itunes To Android Sync App Mac](/uploads/1/2/6/8/126887478/802526249.png)
First, you’ll need to download and install Sync iTunes to Android. It’s a FREE app, but it does contain ads — which you might run into as you work.
Step 2 — Get SyncTunes on Desktop
Next, as mentioned previously, you’re going to have to get the desktop version of the program as well. You can get the link for downloading this FREE desktop software by selecting the GET SYNCTUNES DESKTOP option on the main page of the app (as shown below.)
Step 3 — IP & Port
Once you have installed SyncTunes on both your Android and your PC, you’re going to need to connect it via the provided IP and Port. Take note of the IP and Port provided on the top menu bar of the SyncTunes FREE app.
Then, type the provided IP address on the desktop version of SyncTunes (as demonstrated in the sample below.) Press Connect in order to proceed to the next step.
Note: Port should have automatically been filled. If not, you’ll have to make sure to match it up to the one provided on your device as well.
Step 4 — Select Transfer
Finally, you’ll need to select the playlists you want to transfer (be it the entire “Library” or specific playlists on your iTunes library.) When you’re ready, click the Start Sync option to begin transferring files.
Note: Although SyncTunes claims to be FREE, there is a limit as to how much you can use it before you’ll need to download the premium version (specifically 100 file transfers.)

Part 3. Sync Music from iTunes to Android with DoubleTwist
For our third program, we’re going to feature the DoubleTwist transfer software. It’s not something that can be called a premium product, and that shows in the presentation and lack of stability in certain occasions. However, it does work. It’s just not something that we can consciously recommend to those who want a trouble-free experience. Still, we’re going to be showing you how you can use it with the available almost-”sync” options that it provides.
Steps to Sync Music from iTunes to Android with DoubleTwist
Step 1 — Music
Of course, we’ll be using DoubleTwist to sync Music, so we’re going to have to be on the Music tab (as is shown in the image below.)
You can do this on Mac by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting the New Folder option on the drop-down menu that appears. For our sample, we’ve decided to name our folder “iTunes Music.” However, you can call it whatever you want.
Step 2 — Sync Now
What should happen, is that the available media on your iTunes library be replicated on the right-hand corner of the screen. However, with the recent iTunes update, this feature is not working as it should. That is why, even if it says that “no music was found,” you will need to… Select the Sync Now option in order to begin syncing.

Step 3 — Finalizing Sync
Despite the lack of available scanned data, DoubleTwist should still be able to import Music from iTunes to your Android device. You’ll know if the right-hand side of the screen looks like the one shown in the image below.
Part 4. Sync Music from iTunes to Android with Droid Transfer & Transfer Companion
For our last program recommendation, we have the Transfer Companion which is very similar to the first program that we introduced. At least in that, you’ll need to download and install both the mobile application and PC software in order to be able to use it properly. Unlike the first program, however, the transfer is completed via a USB connection (whereas the first app could be through Wi-Fi sync.)

Step 3 — Music
This time, on your Windows PC, you’ll need to select the Music tab from the left-hand sidebar.
Step 4 — Add Music (Add Folder/Add Files)
On the “Music” tab, the playlists and albums on your iTunes library should be available.
To sync files, you will need to select Add Music then either “Add Folder” or “Add Files.”

However, there is a winner in the midst of the ones that we discussed today. This ‘winner’ is the iMusic data transfer software. With it, you can experience quick and easy automatic syncs between your iTunes library and your Android device. Which is a lot more than can be said about most of the other data transfer programs available in the market.
I know, I know, I mentioned iTunes and Android in the title too close to one another. Trust me, I did not mean any disrespect. If you can get by with your life without using iTunes to buy and sync music to your mobile device, more power to you. But you see, some of us are heavily invested in the iTunes ecosystem, buying songs for years and using the perfectly capable application to manage content on different devices.
May be some of us own a Mac, where iTunes really is one of the best media players around. Whatever reasons we might have, they are legitimate. We need to sync music and playlists to our Android phones that we love oh so dearly and we need to find free, fast and reliable ways to do it, preferably something that doesn’t need playing with wires. Lucky for us, I’ve found just the right things.
Note: The two apps listed here have a Mac and PC client. The process detailed here is for the Mac client but I’ve tested the Windows ones as well and other than the install process, everything else is exactly the same.1. doubleTwist – Wired Sync
I’ve talked about doubleTwist and how it is the best way to sync playlists from your Mac or PC to your Android wirelessly when I compared it with iSyncr. But the Wi-Fi syncing requires a $2 add on. Worth the price but not the objective of this article.
Luckily, doubleTwist will allow you to sync songs and playlists from iTunes to Android for free if you are willing to connect it via USB. The process is detailed in the article I linked above. It is very simple. Once the device is connected, open the doubleTwist app on the desktop, select the device, check the playlists you want to sync, click the Sync button and you are done.
2. Simple Drag And Drop
It is not as glamorous as the other option but it will get the job done. You can’t sync iTunes playlists this way but you can copy music directly from iTunes and organize it in folders for better management.
Step 1: Connect your Android device to your PC and turn on the USB Mass Storage Mode. Your device will now show up in the Windows Explorer.
![Sync itunes to android app Sync itunes to android app](/uploads/1/2/6/8/126887478/762507929.png)
Step 2: Open the Android drive and locate the Music folder where you want to copy the music. Or if you want you can make a folder anywhere in the drive, just remember where.
Step 3: Launch iTunes and open it side by side with the Explorer window. Now select any number of songs you want, click and drag it all over to the Explorer window. Wait while the songs are copied, remove the device, open the music player on your phone and listen away.
You can later create playlists out of folders on your Android phone quite easily.
3. Wireless Syncing with Cheetah Sync
Cheetah Sync is an Android app that lets you wirelessly sync files and folders to and fro from your Android phone. Ashish has already written a general guide on the app but here I will focus on how you can use Cheetah Sync to transfer music from your PC to your Android phone wirelessly.
Note: Setting up Cheetah Sync takes some time but don’t let that be a turn off.Download the Cheetah Sync Mac or Windows client depending on the system and the Android app.
Step 1: Launch the Cheetah Sync desktop client . It is a background utility and you don’t need to do anything more.
Step 2: On the Android app, we will first need to create a Job. A job is a set of instructions the app remembers and executes on your demand. They are saved, so repeated syncing is dead simple.
Step 3: Go into the Sync Jobs menu and wait for the app to search for desktop clients. Pick the computer when it shows up.
Step 4: From the bottom of the screen select Create New Job. The app will now show the entire documents directory of your PC. We need to navigate to the iTunes folder which is in User(username)MusiciTunesiTunes MediaMusic by default in Mac and C:Users(username)MusiciTunesiTunes MediaMusic in Windows.
Step 5: From this list, select the folder you want to sync by tapping the Checkmark icon. iTunes sorts folders by artists. If you want to sync the entire iTunes library, choose the Music folder itself.
Step 6: Now Cheetah Sync will show your Android phone’s storage. Select the folder where you want to save the music.
Step 7: From the last screen, tap Sync Direction and make sure the option for Computer to Android is selected. Then tap Save. Your job will now show up in the Sync Jobs list.
Step 8: To active the job we just created, go into Sync, make sure the job is ticked and tap Sync Now and that’s it.
This might seem a bit long but if you do this right, by selecting the folder where you save all your new music, then repeating this operation (syncing newly added songs) will only include Step 8, as Cheetah Sync already remembers all the details of the job. Just sync and all the new songs you have added to the folder will be copied to your device.
